Zana Zana

Ask it something

Zana carries a knowledge base of its own and answers questions out of it, in your language, without leaving Telegram.

It reads the question, not just the words

It works out what kind of question you asked — who somebody is, when something happened, why, or simply what the bot itself can do — and answers that one. Small arithmetic it does in its head.

What it actually knows

At least 424 subjects and 1500 facts in every one of the 16 languages, written into the bot and shipped with it. Nothing is scraped from the web while you wait, and nothing is guessed.

It follows the thread

Name somebody, then ask “and his army?” — the pronoun still points at the same subject. A near-miss spelling still finds it, so a typo does not end the conversation.

It answers the small things too

Not every message is a question. Being greeted, being told to be quiet, someone admitting they do not know, asking what the points are, asking to be taught a word — Zana recognises 71 such situations and carries at least 391 different replies in each of the 16 languages, so the same sentence does not come back twice in a row.

When it does not know

It says so instead of inventing. The question itself is kept — the 1000 newest per group, and nothing else of the message — so the missing answer can be written in and the next person who asks gets it.
